In recent years Aurora has grown to incorporate a range of business interests outside its traditional electricity distribution and retail activities.

Ezikey Group Pty Ltd

EziKey Group Pty Ltd is Aurora’s subsidiary company that distributes WireAlert in the national and international market. In Tasmania, WireAlert is known as CablePI and has been distributed for free by Aurora Energy to all Tasmanian homes.

In the rest of Australia, WireAlert – a broken neutral technology developed by Aurora – is a commercial product available to businesses.

High Speed Telecommunications

Aurora Energy is a supplier of telecommunications infrastructure within Tasmania, specialising in high-speed data services provided over the state-wide fibre optic network we own and operate.

NBN Tasmania

The National Broadband Network Tasmania was established by the Commonwealth and State governments.

NBN Tasmania is the first stage of the Commonwealth Government's $43 billion National Broadband Network.

Aurora Energy is an agent for NBN Tasmania Ltd.

Our Cambridge data centre acts as the nerve centre for the NBN in Tasmania.

Aurora Energy (Tamar Valley) Pty Ltd – AETV Power

Aurora Energy (Tamar Valley) Pty Ltd (trading as AETV Power) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aurora Energy. AETV Power was acquired in August 2008 for the construction and operation of the Tamar Valley Power Station.

The plant is five kilometres south of George Town in the state’s largest heavy industrial precinct. The plant supports a more competitive generation market and improves energy security for Tasmania due to its use of gas instead of hydro generation.
