Q. Who is Aurora Energy?

A. Aurora is based in Tasmania. We operate in Victoria, South Australia, ACT, New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania. We are solid and reliable–owned by the Tasmanian Government with assets of over $1 billion. Aurora has an exceptional skills base in all facets of electricity distribution, maintenance and retailing. Our contracting skills are also recognised Australia-wide, as is our service ethic.

Our vision is to be the company most welcome into people's homes and businesses.

Q. Where does your energy come from?

A. Like all other retailers in Australia we buy our energy through NEMMCO – the wholesale national electricity market.

Q. Don't you supply via Basslink?

A. Basslink physically connects Tasmania to the national grid but all trading is through NEMMCO.

Q. Which states do you operate in?

A. We operate in Victoria, South Australia, ACT, New South Wales, Tasmania and Queensland.

Q. Do you have offices in VIC / NSW / SA?

A. We believe you shouldn't have to pay for unnecessary overheads so we run our national business from Tasmania and send account managers interstate on a regular basis. You'll probably see us more than your current provider!

Q. Do you provide electronic billing?

A. Yes, we bill electronically and also provide you with a hard copy as well.

Q. Who are your customers?

A. Our national customers are in hospitality, food production, light industrial, manufacturing, retail and more. Unlike some retailers we also happily deal with multi-site customers.

Q. Will you assist with quality of supply/reliability issues?

A. As you will understand, the reliability of supply is not within the control of the retailer, however, Aurora Energy will endeavour (where possible) to keep communication channels in place to minimise the impact of any supply problems.

Our account managers can liaise with relevant network service provider on behalf of customers to ensure that the best possible quality of supply is available and that supply is Rules compliant.

Q. Will Aurora provide support to manage the transfer process in a timely manner?

A. Your account will be transferred promptly and efficiently by experienced people – so you can get back to running your business. At Aurora we take pride in our service.

Q. What other services do you provide?

A. Energy design services, power factor analysis, demand analysis and audits of quality of supply coming into your installation are all available for a fee. If you would like to know more about these services call 1300 13 2045.

Q. Does Aurora support green energy?

A. Yes. We are Australia's largest retailer of renewable energy with around 99% of our customers using energy generated from renewable hyrdo sources. Aurora is also a member of the Greenhouse Challenge. Please contact us for more information on how we can help you become a green organisation too.
