Ethernet Services

Key Features

The Managed Ethernet Service is a permanently connected ultra high capacity, optical fibre-based transmission service available in all Tasmanian major population centres. The service is an ISO Layer 2 “Carrier Grade” transmission service and cannot be on-sold to a third party.

Scalability

Managed Ethernet Service offers a large range of bandwidth options, from 10 Mbps up to 4Gbps full duplex, higher bandwidth services are available upon request. Services of 100 Mbps or greater can be shared between security domains, services under 100Mbps cannot be shared.

State-wide Coverage

Aurora’s extensive “Carrier Grade” fibre network is available in all major centres in Tasmania including Hobart, Launceston, Devonport and Burnie. Metro services are available in Launceston and Hobart; Regional services are available in Devonport and Burnie.

Service Options

Managed Ethernet Service can be configured to provide E-line (Point-to-Point), or E-LAN (Multipoint) services statewide.

Performance

Aurora provides high availability services supported in accordance with NT II Service Level Agreements. Customers have access to Aurora’s 24 x 7 operation centre.

Managed Ethernet Services are premium quality and designed to support critical, real-time applications. Services are delivered with un-contended performance and are ideally suited to Government clients.

Access Options

Managed Ethernet Services are provided as a port per service configuration with trunking options available upon request (additional VLAN’s). Aurora provides carrier grade switching equipment and rack enclosures with all Aurora Ethernet Services.

Intra-operability

All Managed Ethernet Services comply with internationally accepted Ethernet standards as specified by the Metro Ethernet Forum.

Personal Service

Aurora customers are assigned with a dedicated account manager for all queries in relation to your service. Aurora’s customer care team will manage all adds, moves and changes in consultation with the customer, and in accordance with agreed SLA metric’s. The Aurora Energy customer care team can be contacted by calling 1800 650 779.
