Vegetation management

Vegetation interference is a major cause of unplanned disruptions to the power supply, as well as posing fire and safety risks. Aurora has developed a long-term strategy for managing vegetation, focusing on establishing a stable long-term cutting cycle.

Aurora also offers widespread information to ensure private powerline owners are aware of their responsibility to keep lines free from contact with vegetation. By planting appropriate low-growing species under lines, landowners can avoid the need for regular trimming. View more information on Safe Growing.

Aurora uses the advisory services of the respected environmental organisation Greening Australia (external link) to resolve sensitive environmental and other vegetation issues.
