Introducing AuroraGreen

AuroraGreen is renewable energy generated from the wind and accredited by GreenPower (external link). GreenPower is a Government accreditation scheme designed to encourage and reward electricity generation from new renewable energy sources. By applying for AuroraGreen and implementing energy saving measures, you can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and encourage Australia's renewable energy industry.

About GreenPower

GreenPower accredits renewable energy sources including solar, hydro, wind and biomass that were built after 1997 according to strict environmental standards. Existing renewable energy sources built prior to 1997 are not accredited. GreenPower is the only accreditation scheme for renewable energy products and generators in Australia and over 29,000 businesses and 718,000 households already purchase GreenPower nationally (figures as at 31 March 2008).

As part of GreenPower's accreditation process an annual audit is independently conducted and a summary of that audit can be viewed at the Australian Government's GreenPower site (external link).

Added benefits for business customers

Business customers who purchase AuroraGreen are eligible for a whole range of benefits. Australian households that already choose GreenPower are highly likely to purchase from or invest in companies that also purchase it.

Business customers signing up to AuroraGreen may be entitled to use the nationally recognised GreenPower logo*.

This will enable you to:

leverage your purchase with PR activities or marketing collateral by using the GreenPower customer logo.
position your company as a responsible corporate citizen.
differentiate your company from your competitors.
fulfill your environmental policy and objectives.
increase your employee morale by being a company of integrity and leadership.
improve your building or business environmental performance rating through other rating schemes Note: Just 10% GreenPower can help increase your rating by half a star.

* Business customers with an annual energy consumption of less than 160 MWh must purchase a minimum of 75% GreenPower in order to qualify, according to GreenPower logo guidelines 2006–07.
