Aurora Energy has today launched a new digital product to help customers save money.

aurora+ is among the first product of its kind in Australia utilising advanced meters to give customers visibility of their daily energy usage in dollar terms, helping them understand how they are using energy and to take action to control their energy costs.

Chief Product and Customer Officer Andrew Crozier said aurora+ was available to any Tasmanian who would like to better understand their energy costs and conveniently be able to manage them via an app.

“The product uses a peak and off-peak tariff so you get the benefits of using your power during the cheaper, off-peak times,” Mr Crozier said.

“We’re putting the power in customers’ hands. Making some small changes on when they use power at home could save customers big.”

Customers on the new digital product encouraged others to give it a try.

Sandra from Rokeby loves the visibility the app provides and its ease of use. She has been utilising the off peak times and said she feels it is very economical and costs her less than her old product.

Scott from Glenorchy said he appreciates being able to check his usage and adjust payments accordingly.

aurora+ gives customers the flexibility of being able to view and top up their account as they go – removing the need for quarterly bills – or if they would prefer, to pay their account on a monthly basis.

The app is accessible on mobile, laptop and tablet devices, allowing customers to access their account from anywhere when it suits them.

Mr Crozier said customers had told Aurora Energy they wanted a choice of products which helped them to make the most of energy in a way that gives them greater convenience and control.

“aurora+ is an example of how we continue to listen to our customers and we’re excited about designing more innovative products and services to meet their needs,” he said.

Until today, only customers transitioning off Aurora Pay As You Go have been able to access the new digital product.
