Aurora Energy has today released its 2020 Energy Charter Disclosure, underlining its commitment to delivering better energy outcomes for all Tasmanians.
The national Energy Charter is a world first, whole-of-sector initiative focussed on providing energy in line with community expectations.
Aurora Energy’s Disclosure describes the customer outcomes that have been demonstrated by the business against the Energy Charter’s five key principles to 30 June 2020, and highlights areas of continuous improvement that it has identified for the coming 12 months.
In particular, the Disclosure reinforces Aurora Energy’s focus on supporting Tasmanians in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and those experiencing vulnerability or affordability issues.
This included launching a series of new affordability tools on its website, extending aurora+ to Residential Flat Rate customers to provide greater control and convenience, and enhancing its regular winter campaign to remind customers of the need to keep on top of their increasing energy costs.
CEO Rebecca Kardos said the energy retailer was committed to helping deliver a more affordable, reliable and sustainable energy system.
“We have been a strong supporter of the Energy Charter since its inception. Our business is committed to the success of this important initiative aimed at addressing customer expectations,” Mrs Kardos said.
“The Energy Charter principles strongly align with Aurora Energy’s core focus on putting Tasmanian customers at the centre of our business.”
Mrs Kardos said Aurora Energy welcomes the Independent Accountability Panel’s feedback to assist the business with its continuous improvement against each principle.
Aurora Energy is one of 19 energy companies from across the supply chain, and the only Tasmanian organisation at this point in time, to have voluntarily committed to the Energy Charter.
