Mel from our YES team

Mel started at Aurora in 2013 in our Call Centre. She has worked around many teams, including Credit, EWRs, and being the  DNP (Disconnection for Non-payment) officer for many years. She now finds herself on the other side of the fight in the YES Team, where she feels she can make the most impact on our customers' lives and well-being.

Mel is passionate about helping customers in YES and helping her teammates with her knowledge of all things payment plans and anything credit-related.

Mel loves travelling and experiencing new cultures when she gets a break from all the tutus, glitter and all things pink from her three young daughters.

Naomi, our Billing and Metering Manager

Naomi leads an exceptional team within the Billing and Metering department. They are a dedicated team whose work involves collaborating with diverse individuals across the organization to ensure the optimal customer and employee experience as advanced meters are rolled out across the state

The prospect of advancing her career within the energy sector was particularly appealing to Naomi, who started in July 2023. "With a strong passion for mitigating climate change, I recognized the energy industry's significant role in the years ahead."

Additionally, the opportunity to engage with the remarkable Community Engagement Committee in various volunteering activities aligns with Naomi's values, and she's excited by the transformative potential of technology in enhancing customer and staff experiences.

Adam, our Design and Delivery Team Leader

Meet Adam, our Design and Delivery team leader. For those with kids, Adam’s favourite energy-saving tip is something you might be able to relate to: "If you see your children leave one room to go to another, go into the first room because you’ll have to turn the lights off!" 

He’s one of the people working on the project to get our customers onto our new billing system. Adam’s favourite part about working at Aurora is the people. “Everyone ‘rowing in the same direction’ makes conversations and decisions a lot easier, and everyone has been super helpful.”

The Amazing Ashish and Ankit

Imagine migrating to Australia from Nepal, settling in Tasmania and landing a role in a locally-owned call centre, only to bump into one of your childhood friends from your home country.

Ash, our Head of Customer Operations

Meet Ash! We welcomed Ash to Aurora Energy in June 2023 as our Head of Customer Operations, the team who look after your enquiries. We feel pretty lucky as he brings with him a wealth of customer service experience.

Ash is a busy father of three boys who spends his weekends between footy, soccer and basketball.

We asked Ash what drew him towards Aurora? “I see all the work Aurora does in the local community and this is a huge drawcard as it is something I am passionate about, giving back to Tasmanians.”

Lydia from our Customer Service Team

Meet Lydia from our Customer Success team. Lydia is passionate about working for a local Tasmanian company where she can make a difference in people’s lives! Her team looks after all of our customer enquiries over the phone. 

Lydia also has a passion for lifting heavy things, spending her free time in the gym Powerlifting. She recently competed and has multiple national and world records. Most recently, raising a massive 260kg deadlift for a double!

“Powerlifting has made me appreciate what I am capable of in life in many ways. We are all capable of so much more physically AND mentally than we realise.”
