What can a Farm Energy Advocate do for me?

Excellent question. Our farm business customers are genuinely the lifeblood of Tasmania and we want to support you in any way we can. We’ve talked to a lot of farmers, and found out about a lot of resources, then used what we’ve learned to develop the Farm Energy Advocate service.

So, to answer your question: we can help you manage your energy use and costs, plus we can put you in touch with plenty of other specialist support services.

Here’s the lowdown …

Account services

Our business specialists can help you tidy up your accounts. Too many? Too messy? And not at the right time? You can consolidate and customise your accounts, by putting your connections on one statement and then choosing the names that best describe each one. You can also choose the day of the month that you get your bill, based on what’s best for you.

Tariff assessments

If you have interval meters we can look at data about your energy use and make sure you are on the best tariff. (If you don’t have interval meters, you can also give us a call to discuss what we can do with your tariffs too.)

Payment arrangements

We know that things can get tight for everyone from time to time, and our Farm Energy Advocates can help work out a specialised short term payment plan for you, if and when you need it. No big deal.

But wait, there’s more …

Energy and irrigation audits

You may be able to access subsidies to help pay for experts to review your farm energy use, infrastructure and systems to find ways to save money. To get more info, you can either view our Farm Energy Audit Program PDF or visit State Growth website.

AgriGrowth loan scheme

The state government is offering low interest loans (from $100,000 to $3 million!) to farmers and agri-food businesses if you have a project that goes towards the Agrivision 2050. (See more about AgriGrowth loans at the State Growth website.)

Agribusiness support program

If things are tough right now, and costs are high, this is a great program to help you in a range of ways. We can help you get access to flexible and tailored payment plans, half day business and financial management coaching sessions and energy use audits.

We can all agree that the Farm Energy Advocate service has something for everyone. To find out more give us a call on 1300 10 FARM (3276) Monday to Friday, 8am – 6pm or email farm@auroraenergy.com.au.
