Through the Farm Energy Advocate service, Aurora Energy's farm business customers can access specialist advice and information on managing their energy usage and costs. The Farm Energy Advocate service can also connect and refer farmers to other specialist support services.

What can the Farm Energy Advocate service offer me?

Account services

Our team of business specialists can provide general assistance, along with the following:

  • Consolidation of accounts to help farm business customers reduce the number of statements they receive.
  • Customisation of accounts, allowing farm business customers to choose the name that best describes each of their connections. These customised names will appear on the monthly statement. For multiple connection sites, farm businesses can have more than one customised account – for example, 15 sites spread across three separate accounts.
  • Timing of accounts to assist with cash flow. Farm business customers can choose the day of the month they would like to receive their statement.

Tariff optimisation

Farm business customers with interval meters are eligible for a tariff assessment to analyse their consumption data and ensure that their business is on the most cost-effective tariff. Customers that do not have an interval meter are also welcome to contact our team to discuss how tariffs might be optimised within their farm business.

Tailored payment arrangements

At Aurora Energy, we understand that from time-to-time customers experience financial difficulties and may need additional assistance. The Farm Energy Advocate service can refer rural customers having difficulty with paying their Aurora Energy electricity statement for a payment arrangement that is tailored to meet their specific situation.

Other support

The Farm Energy Advocate service can connect farm businesses to available Agribusiness Support programs. These programs offer support to eligible small rural and regional agribusinesses, such as energy audits, low interest loans and business and financial coaching sessions.

Agribusiness support program

Rural Business Tasmania and Aurora Energy is proud to offer it’s Agribusiness Support Program. The program provides additional services to customers that may need assistance to manage energy usage and costs during difficult times. Eligible customers can access flexible and tailored payment plans, Half day business and financial management coaching sessions and on farm energy usage audits.
