Important information on changes to Aurora PAY AS YOU GO (APAYG) meters.
National electricity rules require APAYG meters to be read every quarter, in the same way standard meters are read.
This does not mean you will get a bill; in all other ways APAYG will remain exactly the same.
What you need to do before your meter is read
If the meter reader has clear and safe access to your APAYG meter, then you don’t need to do anything.
If however, TasNetworks can’t access your APAYG meter, you need to discuss your meter access issue with us before the next scheduled meter reading date.
Access to your meter is considered restricted when it is located in an area;
inside your house
behind a locked gate
where you have animals on your property, such as a dog of any size, that are not visibly restrained.
If you’re unsure if the meter reader will have clear and safe access to your APAYG meter, just call us on 1300 13 2003.
It’s a requirement for all Aurora Energy customers to give safe, convenient and unhindered access to a property for the purpose of reading any meter as stated in the Aurora PAY AS YOU GO Terms and Conditions.
