What to expect after your meter has been installed

If you have recently had a new meter installed, there are a couple of things you should know…

Moving from Aurora PAYG?

If you have chosen one of our standard energy products, where you receive a bill every 3 months, your first bill will arrive approximately 91 days from the day your meter is installed.

You can prepay onto your account via direct debit, BPAY, Centrepay, or you can choose Easy Pay, our bill smoothing payment option, to keep on top of your bills.

If you find that the product you have chosen is not the best one for you, call us to discuss your options.

Have you chosen Aurora PAYG+?

Once your new advanced meter is installed, you will no longer need to check the credit balance on your meter! Your energy data is sent to us daily and we will keep you updated via the Aurora Energy app.

You will receive your welcome email containing your verification code within a week of your meter being installed. Your verification code will give you access to the Aurora PAYG+ app and all your energy data from the day your meter was installed.

Any credit or debt on your old PAYG meter at the time of its removal will show on your Aurora app within 10 business days of your exchange – you may need to top up your account to move your balance into credit and to stay ahead.

Your power supply will no longer self-disconnect.

New connection?

If you have just had a brand new connection established your first bill will arrive approximately 91 business days from the day your meter was installed.

Your meter is an advanced meter which measures your energy usage in 30 minute intervals. It is read remotely, where mobile coverage allows, and your energy data is sent securely to us on a daily basis. 

Meter Exchange?

If you have had a meter exchange due to a solar installation, tariff change or other alteration you will receive a statement from us to finalise the energy charges from your old meter.

Your future bills will be issued using energy data from the date your advanced meter was installed, and your first bill will arrive approximately 91 business days from the day the meter was installed.
