What grants and subsidies are available for renewable energy technology in Tasmania?

Tasmania offers renewable energy support through EV charging grants, business efficiency schemes, energy efficiency audits and daily electricity concessions for eligible residents.

As of 1 October 2025, Tasmania offers several grants and subsidies to support renewable energy technology and promote energy efficiency.

  • Electric Vehicle ChargeSmart Grants: This program provides funding to support the installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
  • Business Energy Efficiency Scheme: This scheme helps businesses implement energy-saving measures to reduce energy consumption and costs.
  • PowerSmart for Small Business: Providing grants of up to $1,000 to small businesses for energy efficiency audits.
  • Annual Electricity Concession: Eligible Tasmanian customers receive a daily discount on their electricity bills.
  • Energy Bill Relief Fund Extension - Small Business: Provides a $150 payment to eligible Australian businesses.
