Aurora Energy Receives Volunteering Tasmania’s Volunteer Impact Award

We are delighted to share that Aurora Energy has been honoured with Volunteering Tasmania’s Volunteer Impact Award. This esteemed recognition underscores the meaningful contributions our team has made to the local community.

A year of giving back

As a Tasmanian-owned and operated business, Aurora Energy is deeply committed to supporting communities across Tasmania. In the 2023-24 financial year, our volunteering efforts saw a remarkable increase of 2,473%, with over 1,800 hours contributed by our team.

The Aurora Energy Volunteering Program enables each employee to access two paid days of volunteering leave annually, making it easier for our team to give back.

Our Volunteering highlights

Aurora Disability: In April 2024, over 50 Aurora Energy volunteers helped prepare and bake 32,720 of the 51,720 biscuits ready for sale in Tasmania – making it the second highest number of biscuits produced in 36 years. All money raised through the biscuit bake has contributed to the ongoing quality programs and activities Aurora Disability provide for people living with disabilities.

Lifeblood: Saving a total of 333 lives in 2024, Aurora Energy increased efforts in volunteering and awareness with blood and plasma donation. Blood and plasma donations increased by 58% compared with the previous year.

Salvos: The team raised nearly $5000 for the Salvos Sleepout, contributing to the vital Street to Home community outreach program. Additionally, they donated 42 Bags of Hope to support Tasmanian families in need of food relief during Christmas.
