Our relationship with The Salvation Army sees Aurora provide funds to help top up their Emergency Relief fund, providing housing and financial support for those that need it most.
We sponsor a financial councillor who is available at no cost to those people who need a little extra helping getting on their own two feet.
And 2025 will also see Aurora assist with energy efficiency upgrades at some Salvation Army housing facilities.
This partnership has spanned over 20 years, with Aurora providing the seed funding for NILS Network of Tasmania Ltd. This initial loan capital has been lent and repaid in the Tasmanian community at least 18 times.
NILS Tasmania mission to support Tasmanian’s living on a low income to get safe, fair and affordable loans.
Aurora partnered with TMSA in 2018 where we support the delivery of its newsletter, ShedNews, across its network of 72 sheds.
In 2024 the Power People Project was launched in collaboration with TasNetworks. This project upskills shed members in energy literacy content with the aim to share their knowledge and support their communities in understanding energy and how to reduce their costs.
In 2025, we ‘re continuing to sponsor the RMHC ‘dollar match’ fundraising campaign supporting Tasmanian families who need accommodation assistance while their child is receiving treatment at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
Announced in 2024, Aurora has a multi-year sponsorship with Hockey Tasmania, which is targeted at engaging and attracting new hockey players by making programs such as Hookin2Hockey free.
We are proud to partner with a number of important community groups like Variety Childrens Breakfast Club, and Dress for Success.
