If your Aurora Energy account is in credit, you may be able to request a refund directly to your bank account.

Before you get started, please take a moment to check the eligibility criteria below.


Eligibility Criteria

To make sure your refund can be processed:

  • You can request a refund once every 3 months.

  • Refunds must be for $50 or more.

  • We can’t process a refund if your next scheduled meter read or bill is due within the next week.

  • Government incentives aren’t eligible for refund.


Processing Time

  • Refunds are usually processed within 5–7 business days.


How Your Account Balance Updates

Depending on the type of refund:

  • Your account balance may update right away, or

  • It may update on your next bill.

  • In some cases (for example, when a full payment has been cancelled), your balance will change but the adjustment won’t appear on your bill.


Additional Information

  • If your refund is over $1000, we may ask you to email proof of payment.

  • An authorised agent can request a refund to:

    • The bank account details we already hold for direct debit/credit, or

    • An account that has been refunded before, if those details were originally provided by the account holder.
