Aurora Energy supports Paint the Town Red for Dark Mofo 2026

Published on

This June, Aurora Energy is turning red.

We’re proud to be sponsoring Paint the Town Red (PTTR) in partnership with Destination Southern Tasmania to celebrate Dark Mofo 2026. This iconic event invites the state to come together through light, creativity and community spirit — celebrating winter, darkness and Tasmania’s rich arts and culture scene.

Bigger, brighter and more inclusive than ever

For the first time, Paint the Town Red is expanding beyond tourism and hospitality venues to include all Tasmanian businesses and households that register. That means anyone can take part - whether it’s lighting up a shopfront, an office, a sporting club, or your home in glowing red.

By extending participation state-wide, we’re helping transform Tasmania into a bold, immersive festival experience for both locals and visitors.

Rewards for lighting up

To support participants and celebrate creativity:
•  The first 200 registered businesses will receive a $100 Aurora Energy bill credit (terms and conditions apply).
•  Homeowners will have five chances to win one month of free Power Hours, awarded to homes that best light up red (terms and conditions apply) and stay tuned on Aurora Energy social media channels for more details.
•  A special Paint the Town Red Power Hours event will also be hosted for residential aurora+ customers during the festival.

Supporting Tasmania’s identity and community

At Aurora Energy, supporting Paint the Town Red aligns closely with our commitment to Tasmania — our people, creativity and sense of place. The event reflects state-wide pride and plays a vital role in energising winter, supporting tourism and strengthening community connections.
