Aurora Energy has announced a new Board appointment with Kellie Benda joining its Board of directors.

Ms Benda has a background in law and investment banking, and has a deep understanding of the energy sector having held various senior executive positions at AGL and Origin Energy.

With over 20 years' experience in directorship roles, Ms Benda has served as Chair of a dual-listed mining company, been a director of public and private companies, as well as investment advisers, Government Trading Enterprises, State and Federal Government boards, and a range of for-purpose, not-for-profits and associations.

Chair Mary O’Kane welcomed the newest member.

“We’re really excited for Kellie to join the Aurora Energy Board. She has extensive experience in the unique dynamics of boards and how they are run successfully and brings her own multi-facetted perspective that will complement the existing members,” Professor O’Kane said.

Ms Benda commenced her three-year term today following the Annual General Meeting.

She replaces outgoing independent director Yvonne Rundle, who was appointed in January 2015.

“Yvonne has been a much-valued member of the Board for the past nine years and has seen Aurora continue to grow and mature. I wish her all the best for her future endeavours,” Ms O’Kane said.
