Aurora Energy has today welcomed the Government’s announcement of two new Board appointments with Janine Healey and Rhys Edwards joining the energy retailer’s Board of directors.

The pair replace outgoing members in former CEO Rebecca Kardos and independent director Trevor James.

Mrs Healey has a deep understanding of corporate governance in state-owned corporations, particularly in roles at Hydro Tasmania and now TasRail, and has fulfilled directorship roles for more than 20 years.

Mr Edwards has a strong background in governance, energy policy, leadership, major project facilitation, social policy and economic development. Prior to consulting, he was a senior public sector leader for over 16 years.

Chair, Mary O’Kane welcomed the new additions.

“We’re excited for Janine and Rhys to join the Aurora Energy Board. Both have extensive experience in the unique dynamics of boards and how they are run successfully, and bring their own individual skillsets that will complement the existing members,” Professor O’Kane said.

Mrs Healey and Mr Edwards will commence their three-year terms on 25 November 2022.
