Aurora Energy in partnership with Destination Southern Tasmania are pleased to announce the winners of the Paint the Town Red residential competition.
Five standout homes from across Tasmania were chosen for their creative use of red lighting to transform their homes for the event and celebrate Dark Mofo 2026. The judges were impressed by the volume of entries submitted and the effort that all entrants demonstrated when lighting up their home in red.
Congratulations to our winners, Linda, Melanie, Paul, Rachel and Tracey, for your standout entries. Each winner of the residential Paint the Town Red competition will receive one month of free electricity through Power Hours in July 2026 and all winners have been notified.
In addition to the residential competition, Aurora Energy also supported local businesses participating in the event. The first 200 Tasmanian businesses who registered to light up their property for Paint the Town Red were eligible to receive a $100 Aurora Energy bill credit. Terms and conditions applied. We’ve now notified eligible businesses, and bill credits have been applied.
Will Barbour, Chief Customer Officer said, ‘As a 100% Tasmanian owned and operated retailer, Aurora Energy is pleased to support Paint the Town Red – an event that is near and dear to Tasmanian hearts. It’s such a spectacular activation that truly highlights the beauty of our state. We were also pleased to be able to support local businesses, and Tassie homes participate with our residential competition and local business bill credit incentive.’
Aurora Energy has been proud to support Paint the Town Red. Thank you to those of you who lit up you home and business, shared entries and supported Paint the Town Red in 2026.
