As Tasmania’s only 100% owned and operated energy retailer, Aurora Energy is proud to call Launceston and Hobart home. Our team of over 300 people provides local advice and service, driven by a genuine passion for supporting our customers and the communities we serve.
We’re proud to invest in our people by offering a comprehensive range of benefits and perks that reflect our commitment to their wellbeing.
These include an employee energy discount, support for health and wellbeing, flexible and hybrid working arrangements, and generous leave options to promote a healthy work-life balance.
If you're ready to take the next step in your career, we invite you to explore our opportunities—apply for a role or join our Talent Community to stay connected.
We believe that a positive, supportive workplace starts with all of us. That’s why we live by the Aurora Way—values created by our people, for our people. They’re more than words; they guide how we show up, work together, and make decisions every day.
We believe that our people are our greatest strength. That’s why we’ve taken the time to ask our team what matters most to them. We hope prospective employees will find these offerings just as compelling. Our benefits are designed to help our people thrive—both in and outside the workplace.
We place a lot of importance on supporting our customers to access affordable electricity and we wish to do the same for our employees.
At Aurora Energy, we know that your health is your most valuable asset. That’s why we offer a wellbeing rebate—giving our people the flexibility to choose the health and wellness options that work best for them. We also provide access to professional lifestyle coaching for those looking to take a more guided approach to improving their overall wellbeing.
We embrace a hybrid work model that balances flexibility with collaboration. This model supports a healthy work-life balance while fostering strong team connections and culture. Our people spend a minimum of three days per week in the office.
Life isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither is our leave. We offer a variety of leave types to support our people—whether it’s for family, community, wellbeing, or just a well-earned break. Plus, with our Purchased Leave scheme, you can take up to four extra weeks off each year to recharge your way.
We’re committed to supporting our people’s growth through tailored development plans, a wide range of learning and development opportunities, and secondment experiences that broaden skills and perspectives. To further strengthen leadership capability across the business, we also offer dedicated programs such as our Emerging Leaders Program and the Talent Acceleration Program, designed to empower high-potential individuals and prepare them for future leadership roles.
We believe that understanding the diversity of our people—including their backgrounds, thinking styles, and passions—will help us build a workforce that truly reflects the Tasmanian community. This enables us to understand, connect with and serve our customers better. To meet our people’s religious and cultural needs, we are proud to provide multi-faith spaces in our offices.
“It requires collective efforts within an organisation to enhance DEI, not just for specific groups but for everyone, since anyone can experience non-inclusive practices regardless of their label,” – Chunnian
Starting or growing a family is a big life moment—and we’re here to support our people through it. We offer Parental Leave and Short Adoption Leave to help make the journey smoother. When it’s time to return to work, parents have the option to come back part-time. We also provide paid lactation breaks and a private, comfortable space for breastfeeding or expressing.
“I took 15 weeks of paid parental leave as the primary carer of my second son. The time spent with my son was a once in a lifetime opportunity and allowed me to experience something many dads before me never got the chance to do.” – Django
We’re proud to call Tasmania home, and we believe in giving back to the communities where we live, work, and play.
All employees are entitled to two paid days of Community Service Leave each year. Volunteering provides meaningful experiences, fresh perspectives, and great opportunities for team building.
