New Aurora employees lead the way with community volunteering

Our newest Aurora Energy employees got out of the training room last month to participate in a full day of volunteering at Aurora Disability Services, helping to embed just how important community is within our business.

Aurora Disability Services provide for over 350 clients, their families, and carers with a range of services which support people with disabilities lead meaningful lives.

Their services include day programs where clients undertake various hospitality certificates, a learning centre which supports clients undertake educational projects with personal tutoring, The Old Chapel Tea Rooms where clients operate their own business venture and public tea rooms, as well as social activities like a weekly bowling league and dance and karaoke nights every month!

Our 16 volunteers spent the day doing various jobs including baking and food prep, pricing donations ready for sale, sorting and folding fabrics, creating a workspace in the warehouse, sharpening buckets and buckets of pencils ready for clients to use, and even laying carpet in the games area!
