Aurora Energy Annual Report highlights strong performance

Aurora Energy has today released its 2024–25 Annual Report, showcasing a year of strong financial performance, improved customer experience, and targeted community engagement across Tasmania.

Despite ongoing market volatility and cost-of-living pressures, Aurora delivered an Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) of $5.5 million, exceeding budget expectations and marking a significant uplift from the previous year.

Aurora maintained the lowest regulated electricity prices in the country, provided Tasmanians with over $108 million in government energy bill rebates and waived $990,000 in customer debt through its hardship programs.

Digital innovation remained a key focus, with more than 115,000 customers now using the aurora+ app to manage their energy usage and costs.

Aurora continued to invest in Tasmania’s energy future with nearly 250,000 customers now connected to an advanced meter. This technology has increased access to Aurora’s popular Power Hours program, which gifted over two million hours of free electricity across participating households.

Aurora also invested over $490,000 in community partnerships, including support for Variety Tasmania’s School Breakfast Club, No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS), and grassroots sporting programs.

Employee engagement rose to 73 per cent, and Aurora launched its first Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy, “We Get Aurora,” to better reflect and serve the Tasmanian community.

Aurora Energy CEO, Nigel Clark, said we are proud of the progress we’ve made in making energy easy for Tasmanians.

“Our commitment to affordability, innovation and community support remains stronger than ever,” he said.
