Listening to our community with TasCOSS

TasCOSS Listens

At our call centre, our Tassie team is always ready to lend an ear and listen to our customers' needs. We know that when it comes to shaping our new and existing services, we also need to hear from the wider community. That's why we have a strong relationship with the Tasmanian Council of Social Service (TasCOSS), who work with many other companies like ours all across Tasmania.

Recently, we had the pleasure of engaging the TasCOSS Community Voices Program on our Your Energy Support (YES) policy review. It was amazing to see how the Community Voice Partners helped us ensure that our policy and the program that delivers it continues to support those in the community who need help with their energy bills. Giles Whitehouse, our Lead Regulatory Advisor, was particularly impressed with what we learned from working with TasCOSS and said,

“All three partners provided candid information with some fairly personal information about their lived experience. This unfiltered information helped reinforce their observations and the impacts our business can have on their lives.”

If your company or organisation is interested in enhancing the services you provide to Tasmanians on low incomes or leading a project that can benefit from the lived experiences of others, then the TasCOSS Community Voices Program is perfect for you. The program provides authentic and ethical opportunities to learn from and partner with Community Voice Partners who have experienced financial hardship. TasCOSS can also help you diversify your governance structures or hiring processes.
