Protecting your data with multi-factor authentication

Keeping your information safe is extremely important to Aurora Energy. That’s why we’ll be introducing session timeouts and multi-factor authentication to aurora+.

Session timeouts help to keep your personal data secure. Every now and then you'll be prompted to re-enter your log-in details. Soon, we'll make this easier with PIN numbers, or biometric-login.

Eventually, we'll also introduce multi-factor authentication to ensure it's only you accessing your account.

How will it work

We'll log you out of aurora+ periodically, so you'll need to re-enter your login details to gain access to your details.

Every now and then we'll also send you an authentication code via SMS or email to make sure it's you viewing the app.

You’ll need to log in soon

You’ll soon be asked to re-enter your email and password. If you’ve forgotten your password, just hit the ‘Forgot Password’ link and reset.

Update your details

In October multi-factor authentication will begin. To be ready we need your current mobile number and email address. This is where we’ll send your authentication codes when you log in.

Check your mobile number within aurora+ by going to the top right-hand-side menu and click ‘Account details’ under Account settings. You can update your phone number here.

If you need to update your email address, please contact us here

Why are we adding extra security to aurora+?

Keeping your information safe is extremely important to Aurora Energy.

Did you know that not logging out of apps can leave you vulnerable to hackers? They don't even need your log-in details; this is called session hijacking, that's why session time-outs are important.

Multi-factor authentication helps ensure you’re the only one who can access your account – even if someone finds out your log-in details.
