Before he came to work at Aurora, Mark was not at all energy conscious, he'd leave heaters on when he wasn't using them, have the temperature turned all the way up and left everything on standby power.
Needless to say, Marks quarterly power bills were high and not something he budgeted for. "I attempted to pay them the best way I could, but my payments were pretty erratic," says Mark.
So when he received a high winter bill and all up owed over $1500, he called Aurora for a payment arrangement.
Mark was set up on a long term payment plan. It meant that he would pay off his debt over 18 months and also keep up with his ongoing usage costs.
18 months after setting up the payment plan Mark had no more debt and now doesn't even have to worry about his bill because of this awesome tip:
"I choose the amount I pay and when I pay it. Aurora helped me figure out my average usage over the year and split it into affordable, even fortnightly payments, they come out of my bank account automatically so I don't have to think about it" - Mark.
Now Mark almost looks forward to his electricity bill to see if he's saved enough power to be in credit after his fortnightly payments. He's even going to reward himself by using any extra credit for Christmas presents for his family.
You can pay weekly, fortnightly or monthly with Aurora.
With your choice of payment options you can pay a little, more often. With Direct Debit you can choose an amount to pay as often as you like (i.e. weekly, fortnightly or monthly) and these amounts will be credited to your Aurora account. You can change the amount and whether you pay it weekly, fortnightly or monthly. You can also change your amount or frequency with the different payment options available.
You'll still need to pay the balance of the bill on the due date, but your regular payments will mean you'll receive much smaller bills!
